Ok so I've been working random night shifts, usually by surprise bc other people are sick or on vacation. Then I was feeling horrible. I haven't really been sleeping well. Been running all over. Full of stress. Had a lingering backache for days. So finally yesterday I took a day off and did NOTHING. I laid on the couch and watched The Riches and dozed all day. I didn't even shed my jimjams till evening. I feel SO MUCH BETTER. Gosh, this is the first time I've felt rested in months.

I need to finish some errands today and then catch up on my flist tonight now that I should have energy to read and comment coherently. I also need to do a ton of laundry. Alas, I slept in till 10 this morning and missed Anderson Cooper on Regis and Kelly. DANG IT. I didn't see any tweets yesterday alerting me of his guest hosting plans. Curses!

We may get snow here this week. Possibly tonight or tomorrow.

In BBC news, they're apparently making a new John Lennon bio pic with Christopher Eccleston playing Lennon. He looks freaky with hair. (article) Also Naoko Mori (Tosh from Torchwood) is playing Ono.

It's December, how did that happen? Well here is a Christmas video for y'all to celebrate with.
<lj-embed id="63" />
I <3 them

We now get (names various channels) and BBC America.
Me: Wait you get BBCA now? I'm so jealous! Why didnt you have BBCA when I lived there?
mom: What is that? English?
Me: Yeah I love that channel
mom: I don't know whats on it. I probably will never watch it.
Me: Hotel Babylon would be on it.
mom: REALLY???
Me: Torchwood would be on it.
mom: REALLY???
Me: And stuff like...*mom cuts me off*
mom: I need to find out when those come on, where can I do that?

haha I <3 my mom.
Sooooo much to do today, soooooo much stress. BAH. This sucks. You know it's been like 6 or 7 years since I had a normal holiday with my family? One where I get to see everyone and I'm not working the entire day? This Thanksgiving I'm probably going to be having a chicken sandwhich and yogurt for my big meal. Go me. Maybe I'll drive all the way out to Rudy's today and pick up something worth while for tomorrow. *sigh*

I am getting dang tired of these car alarms going off at all hours in my parking lot. Ugh.

Yesterday my sink exploded. Not really exploded, just the knobs turned on full blast by themselves and would not shut off. So I had to call emergency maintenance (this was 7pm) and they came out in about an hour and replaced the whole top part of my sink. Now I have really nice hot and cold turny knobs.

After the sink incident Ainan came over and we watched Robbie Williams videos for an extended period of time then went out. Today we hung around watching shows on youtube, then got "lunch" at a Chinese restaurant that grossly overcharged us, made fun of stuff at goodwill, hit the library, then headed back here for more youtube. He left a while ago and I made myself some frozen pizza.

I have decided that I am a lazy useless person and I need to fix that or I will never succeed in life. So I need to better plan out my writing time and get myself organized again. I did a great job of organizing a while ago but in the past few months it has all gone to pot. So I just hung three small cork boards for my index card notes, subscribed to feeds of three literary blogs on my flist (here here, and here), and checked out the 2009 Writer's Market. I will get back on track. I WILL.

I should get a bit more done tonight. Early morning and long day tomorrow. I forsee lots of drama and it is making my tummy turn.

Today I was afflicted with a horrid headache and a stuffy ear all day. Yay mountain cedar, allergies galore. Even after leaving work early and taking a 3 hour nap, I still had a headache of doom lingering for 2 hours or so. It's finally gone. Thank goodness.

I meant to organize some of my writing stuff and hang a cork board tonight, but that didn't get done bc I was uselessly immobilized on the couch. I did manage to reorganize part of my book case though. I really need another bookcase. I have piles of books all over the floor and my shelves on this one are seriously bowed in the middle bc I have books stacked upon books and in front of books and such. *sigh*

I should be changing out some icons soon to make room for Christmas ones. Why is this year going sooooo fast?

Started watching Ghost Hunters Academy, the new show where Steve and Tango are training would-be investigators. Gosh I kind of want to smack all the trainees, esp the "sensitive" ones. Don't hinder the entire group bc you don't want to be "influenced" by the history. And don't present things as fact that are in your mind, if you have to use that present it as a question in an EVP session. Don't be like "No, his name is Thomas Whatevs...he was this...this happened to him." You sound like an attention whore. Ask questions! Don't state "facts"! At least Tango is amply adorable.

I'm home from an awesome weekend. Very very late on Thursday night I arrived in Houston to spend the weekend with Kimberly doing mucho fun things.

On Friday, we went to the funeral museum, which has expanded quite nicely. They have a brilliant exhibit on the popes now, lots about John Paul II. It's done very well. I really enjoy that place. What does that say about me? Then we hit Rudy's and stuffed ourselves on the best creamed corn known to man. And back to her apt to watch random youtube videos including but not limited to John Barrowman dancing to Single Ladies. Then off to a concert. The opening act was the most boring horrid performer ever. Gosh, I wanted her to just fall off the stage and be carted away. But the main act, Swell Season, was great. I very much enjoy the lead guy and his cherry-red-when-yelling Irishness. But by the end our feet and necks hurt like mad. Bah, I am too old for gen admission now. After the show we hit Ihop for a good breakfast in the middle of the night. Sadly, though, when trying to leave we were held hostage by a scary drunk man who was causing a scene at the register yelling about how all women judge him and that they could call the cops on him bc he's not afraid of going to jail bc he's rich. Crazy! And the funny part was all the staff were like "gosh, this again?!?!? Really, so annoying. He does this all the time!" So yeah, by the time we got out of there it was quite late.

Sat we got up way too early for vacation and went to the Renaissance Festival. It was really fun. We saw one comedy play, jousting, Tartanic (a drum and pipes band lead by a guy with great abs), the highland games, birds of prey, had good unhealthy food (on sticks), nearly died of heat exhaustion (in November, go Texas), got cool presents (mainly for ourselves but some for other people), and got stuck in traffic getting home for like 2 hours! It was Highland Weekend so there were tons of men in kilts, always a plus. I got a handmade leather journal which is just gorgeous, even the paper is hand-made. It makes me happy. I also got a plague rat. It's a cute little stuffed rat wearing a kilt. He amuses me so much. His name is Duncan (you know, the Highlander, don't pretend like you didn't get that). Aside from annoying children at some of the shows (gosh I wish the falcon would have eaten that little boy's eyes), it was a very successful trip. And yeah, my feet hurt even more by Sat night lol But somehow I seem to have escaped sunburn! HUZZAH! After Ren Fest we watched tv till all hours of the night and learned a lot about Greenland. Did you know they speak Greenlandic (no really), and they don't have any roads connecting towns?

I drove home today through lots of Texas rain and got some kolache at Bucee's on the way. I <3 Bucee's. I ended up listening to Robbie Williams nearly the whole drive. So I'm going to bother you with some Robbie now.

Better Man (watch out, this one is slow and a bit sappy but I love most of the lyrics...if that isn't your bag you should probably move on to the next one)
<lj-embed id="59" />
Perhaps if you wear lighter clothing you might not sweat as profusely there Robbie.

Forever Texas (watch out, these lyrics might make you blush. If that bothers you, you might want to stick to the above vid)
<lj-embed id="60" />
This is just someone's slide show, I don't think this song actually has a real video.

Ok I'm done now.
Finally, a Quiet Night in...So Far

The night before last I spent cleaning up after a sick dog from 3 or 4 am to 7am. And then again at 9. Let me tell you, I felt like death all day at work after that...on a 10 hour shift. Last night was the first time in about a week I got more than 3 hours of sleep, but I still ended up waking up in the middle of the night and spending 2 hours or so stressing over various things in my life instead of snoozing.

Today I ran all my errands I had been putting off bc...well bc I have had NO TIME. Just work. NO TIME. I got a million things ready to mail, went to the book store, got Louis his present, went into Wal-Mart to find packing stuff (they were out of all mailing boxes. HOW ANNOYING), left there feeling ill bc Wal-Mart always makes me sick, went to the post office and waited in line for an hour, got my oil changed and waited outside forever, went to the library, went to the grocery store, got stuck in endless traffic going home, and have done 2 loads of laundry. I still have tons of laundry to do. I'm about to make some tamales and watch SVU. This is the first Wed I've been home to see SVU in weeks.

Tomorrow I have to pay rent and all my bills. Then cry. And possibly beg for money on the corner. But on the upside I do have food in my apt now. I've been living on oatmeal, reeses cups, and granola bars for about a week. I mean, I love oatmeal, but you know, I do require food you can eat with ketchup in my diet. What? It's my favorite food.

Ohhhh time for Elliot!

Causin Rain Storms, Turning Every Good Thing to Rust

I saw Where the Wild Things Are tonight. I've been waiting to see it forever and a day now and I have to say I was let down. But in a strange way. I just don't know how to describe the movie. First off, I will say, the cinematography is beautiful. Great colors and scenery. That in itself is amazing. But there is little to no plot and I don't think it jives as a kid's movie. It's more of an art house flick. I found it kind of violent and a bit muddled. I understand their final moral, but I think it would be hard for a child to pick out. And keep in mind this is coming from someone who adores trippy children's movies. Most of my favorite movies are strange kid flicks (Bedknobs and Broomsticks, The Labyrinth, The Little Prince, Explorers, Pete's Dragon, etc). I'll put the rest under a cut bc explanation of why I found it violent and such includes spoilers of a sort.

I don't mean it was violent in like people had guns and land mines and things like that. Most kids recognize that stuff is not to be touched and know that they're not say, going to be suddenly stuck in a war fighting Nazis alla Bedknobs and Broomsticks. However, depicting a kid jumping off a stair railing with a fork in his hand and wrestling a dog in a very rough and tumble way, still with fork, is totally not a good image for kids to watch. I think landmines are less dangerous in kids flicks. I mean most kids don't have their hands on high explosives. Most kids do have easy access to forks and the family pet. Let's not have any missing eyes on Fido, kay?

And when Carol ripped the arm suddenly off the bird character...my first reaction was to laugh. Then I heard the kid a few isles up scream bloody murder and I realized, yeah, that shouldn't be in a kids movie either. As it wasn't blood and guts violent, but looking back it was rather creepy. Creepy and unexpected.

I don't know...it was just weird. And I adore movies like Return to Oz. I didn't think you could get weirder and creepier than that. Something in it just rubbed me the wrong way. It started with the whole wrestling a dog with a fork thing and continued on.

All that being said...I want one of the pj wolf outfits with the whiskers. I wonder if they make those in my size.

I just drove home from Dallas. I was using my vacation time to see Amy and hang for a bit :) Luckily the head wound did not prevent driving. It's doing ok btw, still tender but no blood anymore. *phew*

On the trip we thrifted and I got a blazer for my halloween costume (at the last store we went to). Now I just need a hat. Alas, I can not currently try on hats bc of the head wound sooooooo that will have to wait.

We also hit the GIANT Half Price in Dallas. That place is amazing. SOOOOOOOO many books. I could live there. It's like a bibliophile's dream world. I ended up with 9 new (used) Trek books all for $1 and a Christmas present. Woo!

And and and, we saw Whip It. Tre cute movie. I would like to own it when it comes out on DVD. Razor is my hero. And some of the characters, they were just so...Austin. I think before you see that movie you should be forced to go to Austin for a day so you could fully appreciate the Austinness of Hot Tub and Razor and such.

While I was gone Wolfy was boarded for the first time in his life. He was just having an allergic reaction to something and scratching. Well he ended up scratching himself into a skin infection and he needed extra shots for boarding and so on and so forth. The bottom line is, that little boy is costing me a fortune. If he weren't so cute I'd force him to earn his keep. Sell him to the movies :P (Just kidding, I miss him a ton when I'm on vacation)

I took a nap when I got back but I'm still exhausted. That drive takes a lot out of you. Mainly bc 35 seems to never end and you kind of feel like you're in a time warp the entire way.

Now I need to go pay my electric bill before they cut my power off.

I nearly killed myself.

I was laying down to take a nap after running errands all morning and my phone kept ringing off the hook. So I was like "BAH I'm not going to sleep!" So I got up. Well, I TRIED to get up but my dog ran right under my feet. And I lost my footing and fell, hard, slamming my head on the corner of my dresser.

And I thought "Ow...but I'm not dizzy and I can stand and it's ok."

Until a moment later when I touched the back of my head and realized my whole hand was suddenly covered in blood.

AWESOME. Massive bleeding. I soaked up like 5 paper towels of blood before it finally calmed down. Ainan came over to look at it bc I can't see the back of my head of course. He said it looked like a pretty small cut...then it started bleeding again. WTF????

So I called the doctor and they told me to come right in. And I did. And waited forever. He gave me an antibiotic and told me it was optional if I wanted stitches.

Then he told me if I got stitches I would have to have part of my hair cut. And I told him "YOU'RE NOT CUTTING MY HAIR!!!!!!!" (For anyone who doesn't know, my hair is down past my waist and if it were cut I would probably rock in a corner and cry for months)

So yeah...no stitches. I just have to apply antibiotic cream stuff to it every few hours. Then he was like "you need a tetnis shot!" and I was like "WHY?!?!?!? My dresser is wood!" And he's like "I don't care, this will hurt!" *jab* (ok it didn't happen exactly like that but you get the point...)

So now my head hurts, my hair is covered in blood, my arm is sore, and I feel generally uncool.

since my last post I...

went out dancing, worked a double and a almost double (I haven't had a day off since last Sun btw and still have 3 more days before I get another break), went on a dinner date, saw an awesome hockey game, caught up on Glee, totally made a Glee ringtone and have been singing along to my phone instead of answering it (haha), got little sleep, had Freebirds and Brindles (yum), went home sick once but it turned out to be just lack of sleep and hunger, had crazy dreams, got locked in my apt complex bc the torrential rains shorted out gates and no one could get out (awesome), and got a crazy pain in my left neck/shoulder...I think that's stress.

The weather here has been insane. INSANE. Flooding and crazy lightning. One girl I know had a tree in her yard struck by lightning last night. Yesterday while going into work I was stopped on one of the downtown streets for 20 mins while a whole gaggle of cyclists went by in some race. INSANE PEOPLE. It was pouring! Not like a little pouring, no, TEXAS POURING. Really, you don't know rain until you've seen Texas rain. It's kind of like suddenly and unexpectedly having one of the Great Lakes fall on you. And these crazy people were out biking in it. I didn't even want to be driving to work in it...and I was covered by my car, man. But I did spend all day at work with wet cold feet bc I had to wade through raging rivers (formerly streets) to get to my building. This morning when I woke up the rain was coming down so hard about 50 car alarms were going off in my apt complex. Awesome. I thought there was some kind of fire emergency going on when I woke up. Then as I became more coherent I realized it was just 50 or so car alarms. BAH.

Ok I just wanted to let y'all know I am alive. I need to lay down.

Hot wraps guy's last day. Woes! He gave me a free wrap, drink, and salad (he knew my order lol). And he punched my card so that I will get a free wrap the next time I come in. I will miss him! And his adorable smile. And his hotness. And his free food. Did I mention his hotness? Bc that I will miss!

The new book by Grant and Jason from Ghost Hunters came out today. See here for info. I think my CC bill will give me nightmares. For serious, I might not sleep for fear of being revisited by the bill of hell.

My dog seems to think he needs two dinners tonight. Actually I think he's just gurgling at his bowl bc he smells my shrimp baking and thinks he's entitled to some. Bc of Jay Leno. CURSE YOU JAY LENO!!!! Tomorrow I don't even know if I can catch it. BAH. That made me a less than happy bunny.

I was talking to some of our agents at the mall today and this guy came up with his pet chameleon. It was sitting on his shoulder and it was on a little leash. Eddie got to hold it and I pet it's head. Get this, it's name is...wait for it...Chameleonaire.

Since I have nothing of merit to post, I thought I'd do a meme...a book meme.

1. What book are you currently reading?
The History of Mr. Polly H.G. Wells

2. What is the last book you read?
Island P.S. Aldous Huxley

3. What is the next book you plan on reading?
Toward the End of Time John Updike

4. What is the worst book you've ever read?
Anna Karenina Leo Tolstoy

5. Name a book you were required to read in high school that you loved:
Crime and Punishment Fyodor Dostoevsky

6. College?
Old School Tobias Wolff (gradschool actually, but whatever)

7. Name a book you wish you read in high school but did not:
The Jungle Upton Sinclair

8. Name a book you would like to read but haven't:
Les Misérables Victor Hugo

9. Why haven't you?
Have you seen how long it is? Good gosh, it comes in different volumes! My less pathetic answer is that I'm just waiting to brush up on my French again so I can read the original. (Ok you can laugh now, I give you permission)

10. What books are on your wishlist?
I assume this is books I want to own and not just a reading list. At the mo, Ghost Hunting: True Stories of Unexplained Phenomena from The Atlantic Paranormal Society Jason Hawes & Grant Wilson (already read this one but I want a copy for myself), A Fine and Private Place Peter Beagle (same), Stephen Fry in America: Fifty States and the Man Who Set Out to See Them All Stephen Fry (have not read it yet, WANT VERY VERY VERY VERY MUCH), The Rules of Modern Policing - 1973 Edition "Gene Hunt" (haha)

11. What book changed your life?
I think that's so melo-dramatic when people say things "OMG CHANGED MY LIFE!!!!!" Perhaps I've just been reading the wrong books, but I don't have a life changing one. I have ones I love...but none that suddenly made me a new person.

12. Grab the book closest to you, open it to a random page and give type the first few sentences on that page:
"She ceased to listen to her husband's talk from the day she married him, and ceased to unwrinkle the kink in her brow at his presence, giving herself up to mental states that had a quality of preoccupation. And she developed and idea, for which, perhaps, there was legitimate excuse, that he was lazy. He seemed to stand about a great deal, to read - an indolent habit - and presently to seek company for talking."
The History of Mr. Polly H.G. Wells

Home from work today as I'm not feeling well, although much better than I was doing earlier. I think my congestion just killed my left ear. But it seems to be clearing up now.

Not much to post about unless you want to hear about me laying on my couch eating soup.

I did manage to watch The Forgotten and Flash Forward. I'll review under cuts.

Kind of bland, but I'd watch it when bored. I don't know if it'll make it. It has a good premise, but Without a Trace tops them by far. Christian Slater, man, hello throw back.

I'm on the fence. It wasn't bad, it has an interesting premise, I liked all the actors except for the main guy (the one from Shakespeare in Love, I forget his name). I thought he was trying too hard. I think it's a bit too much like Lost and thus will have trouble sustaining itself bc personally Lost lost me (ha) after the first season.

There was one scene which I thought was crazy stupid, had poor dialogue, and was overacted. When they were in the board room and the main guy is bringing up that it wasn't really a "black out" but that they saw visions. Yeah, that whole scene was done tre poorly. "It was like a hallucination." "NO IT DIDN'T FEEL LIKE A HALLUCINATION! IT FELT REAL!!!!" Well, generally, so do hallucinations. Good job.

I'm thinking of picking up some of John Updike's books bc my holds/ILLs at the library are seemingly never coming in. I haven't read any of his work.
So today being my day off, I did some catch up.

+I have read back to early Sept in my flist. I didn't have the ability to comment on every post, but I did comment a lot, and read a lot more. See, I did not leave you all!

+I tried to upload all my pics and videos but my camera is being finicy, so I only got half of Friday uploaded to Roger.

+I did get 4 vids from Nimoy and Shatner's Friday panel up on my youtube channel. Here is the end of the panel, which I think is the funniest. It's Shatner saying what he would do if he won the Emmy this year. Alas, it didn't happen:
<lj-embed id="52" />
(that guy with the beard is Eric, the leader of the Trek Track. I <3 him)

Nimoy talks about Spock's legacy:
<lj-embed id="53" />

Nimoy on a serious point...that we need civil debate in politics instead of people in the media flaming everyone:
<lj-embed id="54" />

Shatner eventually explaining why he has not seen the new movie:
<lj-embed id="55" />

+ I have made it up to episode 10 of Warehouse 13 and will hopefully finish 11 tonight with dinner so I will be all caught up...HURRAH. I have also caught up on Hell's Kitchen. I have half an episode of Ghost Hunters to be caught up there. I'm up to date on Glee. I have one more ep of Royal Pains to be caught up. I have yet to watch Stephen Fry's new gig, but I want to. And the person I wanted to win America's Got Talent did. FINALLY.

- There is totally something wrong with my left eye. I think my tear duct has exploded.

+ Oh and in a quick movie review All About Steve is soooooo cute and tre funny.

+ I really want a rootbeer float tonight.

Mon:

WAS HORRIBLE. No really. Getting up and packing and being soooo tired. Then we had to try to work out the room payments and getting the bags into the car. The porter guy putting the bags in was having so much trouble. Eventually he was like "Is there anything breakable in here? No? Ok!" *POUNDS BAGS INTO SUBMISSION*

Then we all had to sardine into the car. It was soooooo uncomfortable, yet again. No real sleep, just pain and horror, cramps and annoyance. Alabama lasts FOREVER. We have renamed it the reTARDIS. Bc it's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside...and much more STUPID. And the bathrooms in the deep south? Oh my gosh are they DISGUSTING. There was yellowish brown water, and stuff all over the floors, and no toilet paper...and YUCK. How no bathrooms were clean just blows my mind. People can be such pigs.

The traffic was horrid too for some reason. It was stop and go for long stretches when it REALLY should not have been.

Needless to say, it took us forever to get home and it was late at night and we were tired and grumpy and just not happy little bunnies. On the upside we did get in a few good games of 6 degrees which I came up with some awesome connections for (one of which was so awesome it was later banned bc I seemed to be able to use it for anyone). Oh and on the way home we had to call 911 to pull over a crazy drunk person who was almost killing people on the highway.

I'd write more but I feel I have said everything I possibly could. My pics and videos will hopefully be uploaded soon. Then I can call D*C 2009 a completely done and reviewed deal. *phew*

Sun:

Sunday morning was an EARLY one. I got up and ready about the same time as on Friday bc Leonard Nimoy's 2nd panel was at 10. Margaret and I got in line about 2 hours before. We were only a few people back, so that was cool. Then we waited. And waited. Eventually the line was out the door, down the stairs, and around the building. We were still waiting inside. Luckily we had two REALLY cool line buddies. The entire time we were talking and laughing, discussing weird old movies like Return to Oz and coming up with odd scenarios involving William Shatner (like fans chasing him into the bathroom and him having to beat them off with a toiletbrush).

Eventually we got into the room. 2nd row on the right, WOO! While we were in line we were discussing how Shatner, who was only supposed to stay Friday, was still at the con and taking photos that morning and such...so we all assumed he would crash the panel.

Nimoy came in and gave a great panel, mostly about his writing and photography and other acting jobs, then about some Star Trek. He's very interesting to listen to...however he has the most soothing deep voice ever and when you're on the last day of your con and dog tired it really just makes you want to cuddle up and go to sleep. I felt bad feeling so sleepy bc he is VERY interesting, but his voice! so calming!

Near the end of the panel the place just exploded in cheers...bc Shatner stormed out and took over the entire interview. It was hilarious. Suddenly no one else was allowed to talk. Everyone was cracking up. I'm pretty sure Big Billy Shat was having the time of his life at D*C and I'm glad I got to see it.

So that panel was a complete success. And then I wandered myself over to another Ghost Hunters panel. Finally the SyFy cameras were gone. Sheesh. I got about 5th row far left with no waiting in line bc by the time I got over there, they were already seating. This one was called something like Weirdest Things We've Seen or such so there were a lot of good stories. And a little girl went up to them and gave them donuts and asked Tango to do a magic trick, which he did. SO ADORABLE (Tango, that is...although so was the kid...but not as adorable as Tango man!). Steve and Tango announced that they have a new show starting on SyFy, Ghost Hunters Academy. I hadn't heard about it since I'm cableless and thus watch my Ghost Hunters on hulu. I'm glad they're doing well for themselves, and they assured us they would still be on Ghost Hunters proper.

By the time that panel was over I was about to pass out with exhaustion. I'm not as young as I used to be, let me tell you. So I went back to the room where I found Margaret already asleep. That was my plan too, yo. But first I chased down a maid and got some new towels and toilet paper, bc we were out.

I napped for about an hour, then ate lunch while watching Patrick Stewart's panel on d*c tv bc I REALLY didn't feel like standing in line for that one. I swear, pod people came to Atlanta and took over Patrick Stewart. He was like the happiest, sweetest, most sci-fi loving man around. NOTHING like he is always made out to be...by everyone...his entire career. There are three possibilities here:
The completely unlikely - That's how he always is and he's been very misunderstood
The slightly more likely - aliens
The most likely - his Star Trek contract is so binding that they threatened him with his wellbeing if he didn't suck it up and pretend to enjoy geeks.
He even said at one point that if he died right then and was remembered only for doing star trek, he would be fine with that. *gasp*

When that panel was done, Margaret and I went to the dealer room to scope out what was left. We stayed there until closing going through all the different tables. I ended up getting myself the most adorable Trek shirt. A pink babydoll shirt with the animated series characters on it...including Nurse Chapel! Huzzah! So so so cute. I <3 it.

After everyone made it back to the hotel room from their various panels and such, we all went out to the mall to eat. After much discussion and complaints, we decided on eating at a little pub in the mall. The food was rather good, I thought. Then we went back to the room to change for the parties that night. I wore my Squishy hat again, but not the whole thing...scarfs are way too hot, man.

We went to the Harry Potter party. I'm not a big HP fan but the party itself was fun once the contest was done with and the dancing started. We got down with our dorky teddy bears, took crazy pics, watched Snape and Draco molest eachother, did silly dances and limboed...and basically had a grand old time until the party was about to die off sometime in the AM. Then we wandered to another hotel to grab a snack and then onto the Mad Scientist Ball...we got there JUST in time. They were about to start the GIANT Tesla coils. It was soooooooo cool. They had two huge Tesla coils on the stage and a metal cage in the middle of them. They put people in the cage and had us all chant like it was some kind of revival meeting, and then set off the coils. They shot huge lightning bolts to the caged person while playing music. AWESOME. We watched that until the party closed at 2 or 3 am. It was sooooooooo cool. I got tons of video. Big, dangerous, and awesome.

Then we went back to the room and crashed. We were going to pack...but no...just crashed.
